Hotter steps up online sales

Hotter Shoes, the fast-growing British manufacturer of comfort shoes, has launched a new transactional website by Screen Pages to drive its sales online.

Hotter designs footwear with unparalleled comfort and style, combining time-honoured shoe-making techniques with state of the art technology in our shoe factory in North West England opened in 1959.

Hotter recently opened the new Hotter Comfort Concept factory in Skelmersdale: the first shoe manufacturing facility of significant size to be opened in the UK since the 1970's. Hotter Comfort Concept shoes are available from retail shops in Southport or Kendal and from discerning independent retailers across the country.

The new website, www.hottershoes.com which will replace the Hotter’s existing site, , will be delivered in July 2004 using Screen Pages’ internet mail order solution, Screen Commerce.

Key goals for the new website include:

 Reinforce Hotter’s clean, stylish branding online;
 Enhance sales through better navigation, more interactivity and more accessible product presentation;
 Increase the Internet as an effective marketing channel for customer acquisition, especially by extending the brand’s presence in search engines;
 Increase convenience and repeat purchases from existing and catalogue customers, ultimately improving their lifetime value;
 Manage its catalogue, site content and campaigns using an in-house team, to keep the site relevant and alive.

Stewart Houlgrave, managing director of Hotter, said: “We met Screen Pages at an industry event: they spoke straightforward common-sense. Their ideas were practical and focused on good old-fashioned bottom-line issues such as increasing visitors and sales and improving service. And, as it turns out, their designs for our site have exceeded our expectations.”

Roger Willcocks, managing director of Screen Pages said: "It’s great to be working with a successful, innovative British company like Hotter. Hotter has a clear vision and well-articulated strategy: we believe the excellence of its products and service is well reinforced by the new website.”
