MDT delivers over 56,000 CDs via new e-commerce website



MDT, the specialist and rare classical music mail order company, has launched a new transactional e-commerce website to increase its sales growth via the Internet.

MDT, founded in 1989, markets delivers over 56,000 classical music CDs, DVDs and other media formats The Internet is increasingly being used to research and source classical music and MDT has the widest possible range of music from all the major and specialised labels.

The key challenge was to provide efficient, easy-to-use search, drill-down and navigation for an unusually large product range: not many catalogue-based websites. The new website, which will replace MDT’s existing site, www.mdt.co.uk, will be delivered using Screen Pages’ internet mail order solution, Screen Commerce.



Key goals for the new website include:

* Provide better online design and branding for MDT, to differentiate the site as quality supplier;
* Improve customer service and lifetime value: especially by recognising existing customers and offering relevant, targeted products and offers;
* Create a reliable, scaleable platform which can support regular catalogue updates;
* Offer pre-order for new releases;
* Provide seamless integration with MDT’s order processing and inventory management systems.
