Personalisation on websites cited as next big trend
“The whole paradigm of how the web works will change,” Dave Towers, vice president of e-commerce at apparel company Liz Claiborne, said in a panel discussion titled “State of Online Retailing.” at the National Retail Federation's conference. “The whole notion of the Internet being just reactive will change to proactive and flip retail 100%.”
Personalisation, once over-hyped by e-commerce technology vendors, is coming back. "Retailers may have no choice, Taylor added, because consumers have said they want a more personalized online shopping experience. “People want us to know who they are and recommend products."
