Apple Safari for Windows

Apple has launched Safari for Windows. Safari runs on Macs, whereas Windows is ubiquitous. Safari runs on (not yet avaialable) iPhones. That will make it popular.

Chief executive Steve Jobs said Apple "dream big" and wanted to expand the 4.9% market share Safari enjoys. Jobs Safari was "the fastest browser on Windows", saying it was twice as fast as Internet Explorer. He acknowledged Safari’s market share was tiny compared to Explorer, but he reminded the audience that Windows users had already downloaded about half a billion copies of Apple’s iTunes music software to their PCs. “We know how to reach these (PC) customers,” he said.
