Screen Pages integrates Google Checkout

Screen Pages has entered into a partnership to integrate Google Checkout into its e-commerce platform and to promote Google Checkout to its joint customers.

Google Checkout enables consumers to consolidate their account, purchase and delivery information in one location with a single logon as well as manage other transaction communications with a merchant, such as order tracking and refunds.

Google Checkout has already been adopted by thousands of merchants. In the UK, companies like Vodafone, Dabs, Goldsmiths and JML have already implemented it and websites such as Ebuyer and EmpireDirect are quoting attractive conversion ratio and transaction increases.

Pindar has already integrated and launched Google Checkout on five online stores: Party Pieces, Raw Garden, L’Artisan du Chocolat and Haines and Bonner.

The major advantages for online retailers in adopting Google Checkout include:

• £10 of free card transaction processing for every £1 spent on Google AdWords - a considerable financial benefit as many of Pindar’s customers are significant online advertisers;
• Potential increases in advertising click-through rates and downstream conversion ratios supported by higher consumer confidence (from association with Google’s brand);
• Increased fraud management and payment guarantees.

Pindar’s e-commerce team has worked closely with Google Checkout technical experts to create a fully functional and fast-to-install toolkit that is easily customisable to a merchant’s order taking and fulfilment model. The implementation allows for Google Checkout to be used side-by-side with a site’s own checkout. Customers can select payment and delivery options from stored account data and are then returned to the merchant’s site once the order has been confirmed. Order and customer data are returned to the merchant for the purposes of fulfilment. Downstream processes such as order tracking and refunds are also handled.

“We believe Google Checkout will be of great value to our clients,” says Roger Willcocks, Pindar Graphics Director. “Apart from the obvious financial savings in transaction costs, we believe it will boost online sales through better conversions and increased consumer confidence. We have worked closely with Google and are very pleased with the result.”
