Hitwise reports that Pindar client Thorntons is now the largest site in its sector: Shopping & Classifieds - Flowers & Gifts. Visits to the website had increased by 137% compared to the Easter week in 2007, and were 25% higher than the Christmas 2007 peak.

Traffic to Thorntons was boosted by a successful free egg campaign, with one in five upstream visits coming from a Rewards & Directories website during the week leading up to Easter. The third largest search term driving traffic to the website during this time was 'easter eggs'.
