Hush re-platforms online shop onto Magento

Hush, the nightwear and loungewear mail order company, has re-platformed and re-designed its online shop at http://www.hush-uk.com. The new e-commerce website has been designed and developed by Screen Pages, the e-commerce services company, using Magento.

Founded in 2003 by Mandy Watkins, Hush has grown from a kitchen table business to establish itself as probably the UK's leading nightwear and loungewear specialist by introducing a much-needed element of chic into an area that fashion had forgotten. Hush currently offers two main collections: winter and summer. Hush’s chief marketing vehicles are its catalogue, website, weekly newsletters and its lifestyle blog.  Hush has been named among the FT’s 10 Favourite Mail-Order Catalogues, listed in Harpers’ 10 Best Online Fashion Retailers and in Vogue’s 100 Secret Shopping Addresses and covered among the Telegraph’s Top Fashion Websites.

The new website’s capabilities, developed in Magento, include:

-      Simple, clear design which allows beautiful catalogue photography to shine

-      Browse products by range (nightwear, loungewear etc)

-      Large, life-style photography (with zooms)

-      Cross-sells and up-sells

-      Gift set options & gift packaging

-      Lifestyle blog featuring tips, recommendations and special offers

-      Ratings and reviews

-      Single page checkout with online card authorisation via Sagepay

-      Order status and tracking

-      Full content management via Magento Administration Panel

-      Integration with Khaos back office for stock availability and order processing, including back order handling

Historic Royal Palaces launches new online gift shop

Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace and Kew Palace, has re-launched its e-commerce website at http://www.historicroyalpalaces.com.  The new website has been designed and developed by Screen Pages, the e-commerce services company, using Magento.

Historic Royal Palaces’ aim is to help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built. Each of the five royal palaces in its care has survived for hundreds of years. Although the palaces are owned by the Queen, Historic Royal Palaces receives no funding from the Government or the Crown and it depends on the support of visitors, members, donors, volunteers and sponsors. Historic Royal Palaces Enterprises Ltd is the trading arm of the charity, and all profits from retail sales are covenanted to the charity to enable them to continue to conserve these fabulous palaces for future generations.

As well as a simple, clear design, consistent with the main Historic Royal Palaces website, the new site gives the customer a better and easier shopping experience through the ability to shop by theme (e.g. the Tudors, British icons and current exhibitions), individual palaces as well as by the more traditional product categories.

The navigation has been designed to suit a wide range of products and to showcase them with large, clear photography. Filtered search and linked products also benefit the customers’ shopping journeys and overall experience.

Gina George, Retail Director at Historic Royal Palaces, said: “The internet has emerged as an important trading channel for us over the past few years, and we view it as an additional shop in our portfolio.  The new on-line shop provides us with the tools to communicate and develop relationships with our valued customers, both new and existing, as well as market our brand beyond the UK.  We picked Screen Pages because of its e-commerce track record, its marketing and technical experience and its level of support.”

Roger Willcocks, director of Screen Pages, said: “Historic Royal Palaces is responsible for the conservation and development of some the world’s most spectacular and magnificent buildings. We are really excited to be working with its Retail team to generate additional income for the palaces’ upkeep.”
