THE ROLE

Quality Assurance Engineer

Reporting to the Managing Director, the QA Engineer will be responsible for executing test plans across a wide range of eCommerce websites. The testing will range from the end-to-end testing of an entire website down to the focussed testing of specific changes across a range of browsers and devices. The QA Engineer will document and report any issues found to the development and management teams and execute retesting after issues are resolved. The QA engineer would be very detail-oriented and would be able to anticipate user behaviour and build test plans based on that. The QA Engineer will work to maintain and enhance the excellent quality of work that we deliver. The QA Engineer will also work with the support and operations teams to “close the loop” on issues found after launch and move the QA process forward, adopting new technologies and processes, including automated testing.

DUTIES

Quality Assurance Engineer

End to end testing of eCommerce websites against a test plan
Precisely and accurately log bugs on our bug management software
Providing detailed and documented feedback/reports on the outcome of testing/inspection

SKILLS

Quality Assurance Engineer

The successful candidate must have:-

Extremely good attention to detail
Familiarity and proficiency with internet applications and devices
Ability to work effectively in a team
Strong time management skills
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Familiarity and proficiency with office applications
Ability to multi-task
A strong work ethic
A desire to develop the QA process to continually improve its effectiveness and efficiency

The successful candidate will work towards being able to:-

Provide estimates on time taken to test new websites / functionality
Create detailed test plans from functional specifications / designs
Train clients in creating and executing test plans

The successful candidates must be:-

Detail and results oriented
Comfortable providing constructive criticism
Comfortable providing training on test methodologies to our clients

The ideal candidate would have or be able to demonstrate:-

At least two years’ experience working in a similar role
Experience in using an online content management system(s) (e.g. Magento, Wordpress)
Knowledge of automation frameworks and automated testing principles
Knowledge of Test Rail, Jira or similar test case framework
Experience working within or knowledge of eCommerce

THE PACKAGE

Quality Assurance Engineer

Although the salary package will be negotiable, dependent on previous experience, the successful applicant will receive an initial base salary of circa. £25,000 plus benefits.
