Christopher Ward launches re-branded & upgraded website with Screen Pages

Leading British luxury watch designer & manufacturer Christopher Ward has recently updated its e-commerce website as part of a company-wide rebrand. The site runs on Magento and can be visited at https://www.christopherward.co.uk/

Christopher Ward was founded in 2004 with the goal of bringing premium quality Swiss-made watches within the reach of as many people as possible, by selling direct to customers from its website.

THE BRIEF:

As a leading brand, Christopher Ward’s aim was to encapsulate their idea of creating premium quality watches at a fraction of the usual price.

The co–founders were on a mission to deliver what they called, at the time, “the cheapest most expensive watches in the world”.

Eventually, their restless desire to keep pushing the boundaries of quality and watchmaking skills needed to be moved onto the Web.

Screen pages was tasked with ensuring the look and feel of a small, independent, British watch brand bringing its own commercially viable movement to market and that transition was executed smoothly and elegantly.

Understanding Christopher Ward’s DNA ensured that we remained as true to their mission as they are at being totally committed to the art of crafting beautiful, premium quality watches that are accessible to the many, not the few.

THE PROJECT:

Key goals for the new website’s capabilities include:
  • A fully fluid and response design for small screen mobile phones up to widescreen desktop monitors
  • Significant and very complex changes to the product setup allowing full business wide stock and pricing control
  • Dramatically improved customer journey & experience, reinforced with superb photography
  • Improved search functionality allowing categories and products to be returned in a search drop-down
  • A set of content widgets that allow complex content/design elements to be controlled and embedded across the site by Christopher Ward
  • Implementation of a shortlist/wishlist function
  • Changes to the shipping options to differentiate between personalised and non-personalised products
  • Changes to the shipping options to differentiate between personalised and non-personalised products
  • Complete overhaul of checkout flow with registration on the “thank you” page
