Since Magento launched Magento 2.0 in November 2015, there has been a lot of confusion out there about the differences between Magento 1EE and Magento 2EE, and the benefits for merchants of migrating their sites across. The below table outlines the features in each platform and demonstrates where Magento have invested in 2EE to improve architecture, scalability, performance and site management, not to mention the feature enhancements on the front allowing merchants to provide a better user experience for their customers. Loake, the classic English shoemaker, recently launched a new responsive site on Magento 2.1. The site was designed and developed by Screen Pages, a leading Magento Enterprise Solution Partner based in the UK.

Loake has been making traditional English shoes since 1880. Today, five generations and more than 130 years later, Loake continues to design and produce fine, handmade shoes. The company exports to more than 50 countries and has become a favourite with discerning customers worldwide.

Since Loake launched their Magento 2 responsive site on the 21st of December 2016, conversion rates on mobile have increased by 96.05%, and transactions have increased 81.82% compared to the same period last year. Overall, across all devices, conversion rates have increased by 44.60%.

The Project was completed in less than four and a half months.

This Works was created in 2003 by former Beauty Director of Vogue UK and International journalist, Kathy Phillips, as an antidote to modern life, its impact on skin and wellbeing. As both yoga teacher and beauty expert, Kathy understood the link between lifestyle and skin health, creating intelligent, targeted solutions that optimise skin performance 24 hours a day, based on the body clock.

Screen Pages has been managing This Works’ online shop since 2012. E-commerce revenues have more than doubled over that period.

The re-designed website’s main characteristics, developed in Magento, include:
  • A full responsive re-design and re-arrangement of the entire site catalogue & content structure whilst keeping the branding of the site consistent with the previous non-responsive site
  • Addition of subscription-based purchasing for products
  • Upgrade to the latest version of Magento

Christopher Ward was founded in 2004 with the goal of bringing premium quality Swiss-made watches within the reach of as many people as possible, by selling direct to customers from its website.
