Screen Pages Powers eCommerce turnaround for Martin Lynch & Sons

Trusted Magento specialists rescue and revitalise ML&S' online presence after technical and performance issues under previous agency

Surrey, UK – June 2025 — Screen Pages, a leading UK Magento agency with over 25 years of eCommerce expertise, is proud to announce the successful turnaround of the online store for Martin Lynch & Sons (ML&S), the UK’s premier amateur radio retailer.

ML&S approached Screen Pages in late 2023 after a series of performance issues with their Magento 2 website, built and managed by another agency. The site wasn't converting as well as it could and was beset by frustrating technical issues and poor configuration, threatening both customer confidence and business operations.

“We first helped ML&S identify and improve on some of their issues with some configuration tweaks to the checkout - before they’d even committed to moving over to us,” said Tom Day, Managing Director at Screen Pages. “Once they saw we knew what we were doing, they moved their site and hosting to us. We knew it wasn’t going to be a simple handover, but it was a challenge worth taking on.”

From Vulnerable to Resilient: The Recovery Process

Screen Pages began by addressing the checkout performance concerns head-on, then quickly moved to upgrade the site to the latest version of Magento. The team performed a full audit, removing around 30 unnecessary or redundant extensions, streamlining performance, and reducing potential vulnerabilities. Key improvements included:

  • Implementation of Admin Panel two-factor authentication (2FA)
  • Overhaul of stock and price integrations for better daily update accuracy
  • Enhanced international tax and duty handling
  • Expanded shopping channel support, including new Bing integration

These changes not only further fortified the site against any malicious attacks but also set the foundation for long-term scalability and better customer experience.

Real Results: Revenue Growth and Operational Stability

Despite the lack of clean pre-migration analytics, the business impact is clear. Comparing the 12 months following the migration to the previous year:

  • Order value increased by 18%
  • Order volume jumped by 25%
  • Items sold rose by 16%
  • Refunds remained proportionally stable, despite higher volume

For a niche retailer with complex international and product requirements, these are significant gains.

A Trusted Relationship

Henry, Head of eCommerce at ML&S, commented:

“From the outset, the entire team at Screen Pages have been levels above any other agency I’ve worked with. The team are always available, responsive and ready to offer their support and guidance. I can’t recommend them highly enough - if you’re looking for a team that will genuinely support and enhance your online business, Screen Pages is the way to go.”

Tom Day added:

“Working with Henry and the team at ML&S has given us a fantastic opportunity to add real value to a long-established business. It’s always great to solve long-standing issues simply and see the results almost immediately. Henry’s trust in our team has been key to the success of the projects we’ve delivered.”

Magento Still Delivers

This project is a textbook example of how Magento 2, when implemented and maintained correctly, can be a robust, scalable platform - especially for retailers with complex needs around stock, pricing, and security.
